
At least three Burntwood schools face partial closure due to strike action – while others admit they may also be unable to open.
Highfields Primary School, Hollygrove Primary and Ridgeway Primary School have all confirmed that some children should not attend on June 30 due to action by the NUT and ATL teaching unions.
Parents of children at these schools have or will be informed of the affected classes by letter.
Only Boney Hay Primary, Fulfen Primary and St Joseph And St Theresa Catholic Primary were able to confirm that they will open as usual.
Details for all of Burntwood’s schools are:

- Chase Terrace Primary: Uncertain – Hopeful school will remain open – Letter to be issued on Friday
- Chase Terrace Technology College: Uncertain
- Chasetown Community School: Uncertain – Possible partial closure
- Erasmus Darwin (Chasetown Specialist Sports College): Uncertain
- Fulfen Primary School: Not affected
- Highfields Primary School: Partial Closure. Letter already issued to inform parents which classes should not attend.
- Hollygrove Primary: Partial Closure. Letter already issued to inform parents which classes should not attend.
- Ridgeway Primary School: Partial Closure. Letter being issued to inform parents which classes should not attend.
- Springhill Primary School: Information not provided.
- St Joseph And St Theresa Catholic Primary: Not affected
As other unions are balloting members about strike action, this may be subject to change or additional strike days may be announced.
Staffordshire County Council advise that if your child’s school is affected they should contact you by letter as soon as possible.
