A lucky ticket holder in Lichfield or Burntwood could be sitting on a potential fortune.
The National Lottery is hunting for a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle winner who hasn’t claimed their prize from the draw on June 21.
The winning ticket number QVS068423 was bought in the region, but the money will need to be claimed before December 18.
If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest the it has generated, will go to The National Lottery Good Causes.
A spokesperson said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life.
“We’re urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club.
“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
To jog EuroMillions players’ memories, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke ft. T.I. and Pharrell Williams topped the UK singles chart at the time, whilst Black Sabbath were at the top of the album charts with 13.
Sports fans may remember that many high-profile sporting events were taking place around the time of the EuroMillions draw. On the day after the draw, June 22, the British & Irish Lions faced Australia in the first test in Brisbane. The Lions recorded a tense 23-21 win after a last-gasp penalty miss by the Australians.
Also on the Saturday, Brazil beat Italy 4-2 and Mexico triumphed 2-1 over Japan in the Confederations Cup.
Finally, on a busy weekend for top class sport, England were beaten by India by five runs in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy.
Away from sport, locals may have taken a trip to Lichfield’s Garrick Theatre to see a production of Educating Rita.
Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
