Air ambulance called as five people are injured in Burntwood crash

Five people have been injured after a crash in Burntwood.

The Midlands Air Ambulance was called after the accident at the junction of Miners Way and Cannock Road, Burntwood at 7.05pm on Saturday (August 25).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “In one of the cars were the driver – a man in his twenties – and his teenage passenger. The driver had arm and shoulder pain from a suspected fracture. He was given pain relief and was immobilised at the scene.

“His passenger had neck, leg and chest injuries. His injuries were splinted and he was given pain relief.

“There were three people in the other car. Its driver, a man in his thirties, had neck pain. A pregnant woman passenger in her thirties, had neck and abdominal pain. A 12 year old girl had back and arm pain from a suspected fracture.

“All five people were taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.”
