ALREWAS remain rooted to the bottom of the table after a 41-run defeat at home against Alvaston and Boulton.
The visitors were sent in to bat first – and they reached 64 before the first wicket fell when Chris McElroy was caught by Tevyn Walcott off the bowling of Will Smedley.
Phoenix Sherry and Mitchell Wagstaff also fell victim to Smedley to leave the score on 116-3.
Alex Hughes departed without the scoreboard moving on, while Hamid Qadri also made just ten before returning to the pavilion with the score on 136-5.
But Alrewas were left frustrated as Thomas Knight and Christopher Durham added unbeaten knocks of 56 and 77 respectively to see the Alvaston and Boulton innings end on 260-5.
The Herons made a strong start in reply, reaching 43 before Gareth Woolley was removed – but they soon found themselves on 74-5.
Walcott made 54 to help get the innings back on track, but despite a late stand from Sam van Daesdonk which saw him score an unbeaten 31, the dismissal of last man Arthur Walker for 20 brought the Alrewas innings to a close on 219.
