A road in Burntwood has been blocked by fly-tippers.
Dark Lane is the latest area of the district to be hit by illegally-dumped waste after chairs, sofa and wood were left on September 11.
Councillor Iain Eadie, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for Waste Services, said: “Fly-tipping is a criminal offence.
“When people do it they are not just blocking the roads and causing a danger, they are running up a big bill. It can cost up to £100,000 of council tax payers’ money to clear away local fly-tipping each year, which is money that we could be spending on other local services.
“We are very keen to catch and prosecute the culprits. It only takes one or two rogue traders to create a huge problem. If you recognise any of the rubbish from the photos, or may have seen it being dumped, please contact us so we can prosecute those who are doing it.
“We want to spend council tax money on the things people want, not cleaning up after those who can’t be bothered to take rubbish to the tip.”
