Police investigating a suspected sexual assualt at Birmingham New Street railway station are hoping Lichfield passengers can help identify a man they want to speak to.
British Transport Police officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to trace in connection with the offence which took place at around 5.40pm on June 11.
PC Salim Mohammed said:
“The victim, a 38-year-old woman, was standing at the foot of the stairs on Platform 2 at Birmingham New Street rail station when a man approached from behind and grabbed her chest.
“The man apologised and then ran off, leaving the victim shaken, but uninjured. I am urging anyone who recognises the man in this photograph to contact British Transport Police straight away so that we can speak to him in relation to this incident.
“The man we would like to speak to is described as Asian, aged 30-35, about 5ft 9in, of medium build with short, dark hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, light blue jeans and white trainers.”
