Arts organisations in Lichfield and Burntwood invited to apply for funding

Published:

Time is running out for local arts groups to apply for funding.

The money is available from Staffordshire County Council’s Community Arts Fund for any organisation planning an event or project.

So far this year, more than 40 organisations from across the county have been awarded funding. Projects have included festivals and carnivals, singing and drama workshops for those with learning difficulties, singing sessions to improve health and wellbeing, poetry, crafts, dance and music workshops.

Cllr Mike Lawrence said: “As a Council we are keen to get people involved in arts activities and our Community Arts Fund is helping to support local groups and organisations to take projects out into the local community and involve others.

“Arts activities can dramatically improve and enhance the quality of lives of many people and I would encourage organisations to get their applications in before the closing date in December.”

Groups have until December 20, 2013 to apply for up to £800.
