Beacon Park has beeen named the best park in the Midlands.
The Lichfield green space was also named 12th in the country in the People’s Choice award.
The accolades come on the back of it being awarded a Green Flag by Keep Britain Tidy for the fifth consecutive year.
Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for parks, said: “We’re all thrilled. It’s such a special park and we know how much locals and visitors enjoy the gardens, playground, sport facilities, woodland and programme of events.
“Thank you so much to everyone who voted for Beacon Park.”
More than 1,500 parks entered the contest with London’s Victoria Park coming out on top of the public vote.
