Chasetown FC defender Chris Slater has committed his future to the club ahead of the new season.
New manager Craig Harris will have the former Port Vale man available for the season opener at King’s Lynn tomorrow (August 18).
Slater had been the subject of an approach from Sutton Coldfield Town, but has opted to stick with the Scholars.
But while Chasetown’s defensive options have been boosted, King’s Lynn will have to go into the game without centre back Stuart Wall who suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season.
