Brexit Party set to rule out fielding General Election candidate in Lichfield and Burntwood

The Brexit Party is now unlikely to contest the election in Lichfield and Burntwood after leader Nigel Farage said they would not field candidates in seats won by the Conservatives in 2017.

The Brexit Party is now unlikely to contest the election in Lichfield and Burntwood after leader Nigel Farage said they would not field candidates in seats won by the Conservatives in 2017.

There had previously been proposals to participate in all parliamentary constituencies.

But Mr Farage has now said the party will instead focus on winning seats from other parties, fielding only 317 candidates rather than the anticipated 600-plus.
