More than 100 people have signed a petition calling for replacement services following the decision to axe the Jobsbus scheme.
Burntwood Labour Councillor Sue Woodward handed over the petition after raising concerns about Staffordshire County Council’s decision to end the service in July.
“At a time when people are so anxious about jobs, it is so unfair that the people using the Jobsbus were left in the dark about replacement services at Burntwood Library,” she said. “Even now, there is still a great deal of uncertainty about how services are being taken forward at this time of rising unemployment and economic difficulty.
“Over 100 people have signed the petition demanding that the replacement services should be at least as good, if not better, that the service that has been taken away without any proper consultation or scrutiny.”
The petition was put together by a local service user angered by the move to axe the Jobsbus service.
