Burntwood racing driver James Tucker suffered frustration as he attempted to get his season underway.

Snow forced his season opener in the BriSCA F1 Stock Car Championship to be called off.

Tucker admitted his frustration was tempered by a road incident as poor weather blanketed the county.

“Although I was bitterly disappointed not to be racing when I was told the news on Friday that the meeting was cancelled, it seems a very sensible decision by the promoters,” Tucker said. “The last thing you want is to not get to a track because the road conditions have dragged you into a ditch.

“The conditions of the road really hit me on Monday when I got stuck only a mile from home on my way back from work and had to get towed out by a very kind Land Rover owner.

“It does however prolong my wait to climb back in the driving seat until April 6 at the opening Coventry meeting of the year.”
