Drivers in Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to take extra care on the roads after weather forecasters predicted a dip in temperatures this week.

A new cold snap is likely to strike, causing ice and possible snow in parts of the region.

Cllr Mark Deaville, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet support member for highways, said drivers should take extra care.

“This means slowing down, taking extra care and allowing more time for your journeys,” he added.

“Even on clear mornings, extra caution is needed particularly on early journeys because of the possibility of ice.”
