A NEW campaign is urging motorists to focus on safety behind the wheel.

It comes after figures revealed that 23% of crashes across the county last year was due to drivers not looking properly or misjudging the speed or direction of other road users.

The new Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership campaign video has been created to irresponsible driver behaviours and encourage motorists to think twice about their actions on the road.

Staffordshire Commissioner Ben Adams said:

“Every collision has a ripple effect and can impact families, communities, and emergency services.

“Driving irresponsibly can not only add time to your journey but can potentially have serious consequences. We’re asking drivers to consider the potential impact of their behaviour and share the road responsibly.”
