A MAN has admitted the attempted murder of his ex-partner after she was stabbed multiple times inside a house.
Terry Langley, 49, of Bloxwich, Walsall, pleaded guilty to attempted murder at Stafford Crown Court.
He also admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm, burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and making threats to kill.
It comes after police were called at 8.50am on 3rd July to reports that a man had broken into a house in Norton Canes and stabbed a woman multiple times in a bedroom.
The individual then fled the house leaving the victim fighting for her life. Langley was arrested in Bloxwich a few hours later.
The woman underwent lifesaving surgery. She has since been discharged and continues to recover at home.
Detective Inspector Stephen Ward, of Staffordshire Police's CID, said:
"This was a brutal and cowardly attack which left a woman with life-threatening injuries.
"Langley forced his way into the property, armed himself and carried out a sustained assault before leaving the victim fighting for her life. Thanks to the swift actions of emergency services and the determination of officers, he was arrested just a few hours later.
"I want to pay tribute to the victim for the courage and resilience our victim has shown throughout this investigation.
"While the guilty plea will not undo the trauma and suffering she has experienced, I hope it provides some reassurance that Langley has accepted responsibility for his actions and will now face the consequences of his violent behaviour.
"Violence against women and girls has a devastating impact on victims, their families and communities. We remain committed to pursuing offenders relentlessly and bringing them before the courts."
Langley will remain remanded into custody and is due to be sentenced on 25th February 2027.
