Villagers near Lichfield are celebrating after winning a best kept village award.
The Community Council of Staffordshire-run competition saw Abbots Bromley win the East Staffordshire award, while the Cannock and Lichfield prize went to Kings Bromley.
Steven Browne from Kings Bromley said:
“It’s very pleasing to win such a prestigious award. Many members of the village have helped.”
Chris Welch, Chief Executive of the Community Council of Staffordshire added:
“The 2010 Best Kept Village Competition was the 55th since the Competition began in 1956. The Community Council is only able to run it with the generous help of its sponsors – Staffordshire County Council, Rubery Owen Holdings Ltd, South Staffordshire Council, South Staffordshire Housing Association, on behalf of the National Memorial Arboretum and Lafarge Cement UK.”
