People in Lichfield and Burntwood are being invited to become an apprentice with West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Fifty have already been recruited to join the non-emergency patient transport service and another 42 are now being sought.
Eligible applicants will need a minimum of three GCSEs and a driving licence. Apprentices will get the opportunity to experience the job as well as gaining an intermediate level apprenticeship in Health (Healthcare Support Service) qualification.
“The apprentice programme we have committed to will lend a helping hand to anyone who is interested in commencing a career in the NHS Ambulance Service,” said Adam Layland from the Patient Transport Service (PTS). “While working alongside our PTS staff, the apprentices will be given the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills over a 12 month period.
“On completion of the programme, apprentices will have the opportunity to continue their career and apply for substantive posts available within the service.”
