Singers are being invited to perform alongside the CBSO as part of the Lichfield Festival Chorus.
Taking place on July 7, the performance in Lichfield Cathedral will see 100 people perform alongside the renowned orchestra in a performance of William Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast.
The concert will mark the opening of the 30th Lichfield Festival.
A spokesman said:
“Chorus members will need to commit to regular rehearsals on Friday evenings, beginning on May 6 and they should be fairly confident and will need to read from music, but all are welcome. There will be a limit on numbers in each section, as for this work a balanced choir is needed. Men in particular will be needed.”
This will be the fourth year the Lichfield Festival Chorus has performed. Previously the community choir has tackled original music by Alec Roth and Vikram Seth, gospel music and American show tunes.
