Chance for young Lichfield and Burntwood singers to join new show choir

Published:

Young singers from Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to sign up for Staffordshire’s very own Glee-style show choir.

The Vocal Revolution group is being put together by Staffordshire Performing Arts and will see performers combine harmony singing and movement.

Members will learn to perform as part of an ensemble, develop hearing and sight singing skills, as well as vocal technique.

County Councillor Mike Lawrence, Cabinet Member for Children’s Wellbeing said: “This really is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring singers and performers to develop their vocal skills and stage craft, and, more importantly, have fun while they do it.

“It’s a really exciting opportunity to be part of a show choir at the very beginning, getting to know new people and sharing talent and ability with a wider audience.”

Rehearsals will be held at Wolstanton High School every Wednesday during term time, between 4pm and 5pm. The cost to attend the group is £66 for the year.

Auditions for Vocal Revolution are currently being organised. To register an interest, budding singers should e-mail their name, age, address and e-mail address to spa@staffordshire.gov.uk.
