People are being urged to nominate voluntary groups across Lichfield and Burntwood for an award.
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the equivalent of an MBE.
The Embroidery for Burntwood group were honoured earlier this month and now Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Ian Dudson, has called for more nominations for groups who are making a difference in local communities.
“Voluntary groups in Staffordshire continue to play a pivotal role in the community, and many individuals’ lives,” he said. “Recognising their influence is vital and I want Staffordshire to express their gratitude to these groups by nominating as many as possible for The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour in the voluntary sector.
“Staffordshire’s volunteers carry out tremendous work across a number of areas. There are lots of organisations and groups doing some great work in Staffordshire and we want to see them recognised for their contributions, so please nominate them.”
Nomination forms can be downloaded online. Nominations must be received by September 18.
