A group for adults with learning difficulties have been boosted by a £300 donation from Lichfield Ladies Circle.
Friends 2 Friends was at risk of closure after they lost funding from Lichfield District Council.
But more than 40 members who benefit from an opportunity to socialise and gain new skills have benefited from donations, including this latest one.Sue Kershaw, chair of Lichfield Ladies Circle, said: “It is so important that we support our local charities,
especially when they provide such a valuable role in our community.”
The group costs around £13,000 per year to run and members also carry out their own fundraising activities.
Spokesperson Alison Wellon added: “We support the members with a view to them doing things independently
“This group is vital, without it the members would be lonely and excluded.”
Friends 2 Friends meets at Cruck House in Stowe Street on:
- Mondays from 10am to 12noon
- Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm
- Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm
- Fridays from 10am to 2pm
- Saturdays from 10am to 2pm
- Sundays from 10am to 2pm
