Charity will be the winner in a fundraising rugby match in Lichfield.
A local Barbarians team – made up of players from Lichfield, Whittington and Burntwood – will take on Staffordshire Police at Lichfield Rugby Club tomorrow (March 17) at 3pm.
All funds raised will be towards mental health charity Mind and local small sporting clubs.
The game was played for the first time last year with Staffordshire Police taking the Michael Wakefield Memorial Cup.
As part of the St Patrick’s Day fun there will also be a bouncy castle, hog roast, Irish dancers and The Cannock Pipe Band.
Support for the event has come from local firms including Audi Tamworth, Straightforward Solutions, Lichfield Tarmacadam, Huddlesford Holsteins, JS Construction,DGS, Pubinnsite and Squirrell Financial Management.
A spokesperson said: “I would encourage all local people to come down and support the event and while having a great time raise some money for Mind who help the one in four people who suffer from emotional and mental distress.
“It really is a good day and any support for the players would be greatly appreciated.”
