The magic of the FA Cup will again be on the minds of Chasetown FC fans as they return to the competition they have become synonymous with.
A tough home First Qualifying Round against Stafford Rangers on Saturday (September 14) was the reward Craig Harris’ men got for beating Brocton in the last round.
Although the visitors to The Scholars Ground ply their football at a higher level in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, Chasetown will be more than hopeful of springing an upset.
Rangers are currently propping up the table after bagging their first point of the season at the eighth attempt in a midweek 2-2 draw with Marine.
But against a defence that has conceded 23 goals in the league so far this season, Harris will be hoping his strikers can take advantage of a leaky Rangers backline.
The encounter will bring Chasetown face to face with more than one familiar face.
Stafford have former Scholars Alex Steadman, Lucan Spittle and Levi Reid amongst their ranks, while ex-Scholars stalwart Dave Langston’s son Jack is also on the books at Rangers.
Kick-off at the Scholars Ground on Saturday is at 3pm.
