Chasetown FC’s unlikely lunge towards the play-offs will continue when they entertain Leek Town.
The Scholars go into the game tonight (March 12) on the back of a strong run of form that has seen them win their last four league games.
Those results, culminating in a 3-0 win over Rainworth Miners Welfare on Saturday, mean Craig Harris’ side now occupy eighth spot in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier.
But with a game in hand on a number of sides in the play-off hunt above them, a victory tonight could drag them right onto the coat-tails of the promotion-hunting pack.
However, Leek will be keen to make their own push for the top echelons of the table, sitting as they do just two points adrift of Chasetown.
The visitors are likely to be without Matt Haddrell who is expected to be on his way out, but they are likely to have added Ryan Connor to their ranks in time for tonight’s game.
Chasetown will be hoping leading scorer Nick Wellecomme can continue his resurgent form which has seen him net four goals in five days last week to take his tally to 16 for the season.
Kick-off at the Scholars Ground is at 7.45pm.
