PASSENGERS at a local railway station have been treated to plenty of festive cheer by local music groups.
Between 13th and 20th December, the Friends of Lichfield City Station welcomed the U3a folk, ukulele and orchestra groups, the Aspire Community Jazz Band, Kaleidoscope Choir, Everything by the Diva and Wayside Serenaders.
Passengers also donated hundreds of pounds to charity collections for St Giles Hospice, Cancer Research, Lichfield Arts and Crisis.
Kathy Maskell, chair of the Friends of Lichfield City Station, said:
“We want to say a massive thank you to all the bands who performed and to all the passengers who gave so generously.
“Our station group, supported by West Midland Trains, is all about community involvement and making the station more welcoming – and what better way to do this than some Christmas music.”
