The new document will help outline how the area can be shaped for the future.

It has been submitted to Lichfield District Council by Lichfield City Council.

A six-week consultation will give local people and organisation the chance to give their views before it is passed onto an independent examiner who will assess it prior to a possible local referendum which would decide if the plan was to be adopted.

Councillor Ian Pritchard, Cabinet member for economic growth, environment and development Services for Lichfield District Council, said: “Well done to everyone who has worked so hard on this plan. It’s a great achievement to have got it this far in the process and we look forward to receiving comments about it.”

The consultation period closes on August 18. People can have their say online or by calling 01543 308196.
