Councillors have pledged their commitment to Lichfield and Burntwood residents at an annual civic service in Lichfield Cathedral.
The recently-appointed chairman of Lichfield District Council, Cllr David Salter, led the Act of Commitment on Sunday (June 5).
He invited parish, district and county councillors to acknowledge their responsibility to the community and pledge their commitment to the service of local people.
Cllr Salter said: “I would like to thank Lichfield Cathedral for a beautiful service.
“I was honoured to lead my fellow councillors in the Act of Commitment.”
Burntwood Town Council’s new chairman, Cllr Beth Fisher – who is also a district councillor – also took part in the service.
She said: “It’s such a privilege to represent Burntwood. The service was lovely and I enjoyed meeting dignitaries from across the region.”
