A PROJECT focusing on bringing the arts to Burntwood is celebrating its first anniversary.
Creative Burntwood is funded by Arts Council England's Place Partnerships Fund and delivered by the Lichfield Garrick in partnership with Burntwood Town Council and Lichfield District Council.
The anniversary is being marked with the annoucement of a "bold new season" of performances.
Local venues including Burntwood Library, Ashmole Club, St Anne's Church and Chase Terrace Community Centre will host dance, theatre, music and comedy events.
Daniel Buckroyd, CEO and artistic director of the Lichfield Garrick, said:
"We're passionate about the impact we have within the communities that surround the venue, so we're delighted that over 150,000 people from across the district have visited the theatre to see a performance this year.
"But we know that lots of people experience barriers to attending our theatre and sometimes engaging new audiences means getting out of our building and working with communities to make things happen where they are.
"Creative Burntwood is just such a project, powered by the creativity and civic pride of our community partners and brought to life by the professional artists and companies we've engaged, so we're thrilled that, one year on so many people in Burntwood are participating in creative activities and seeing live performance for the first time."
