BROADCASTER Chris Packham CBE has backed the screening of a film highlighting the climate and nature crisis facing the country.
The People's Emergency Breifing will be shown at Burntwood Memorial Institute at 7pm on 29th October.
It will be followed by a discussion on issues raised by the film.
In November 2025, more than 1.200 MPs, peers and leaders from businness, culture, faith, sport and the media gathered at Westminster Central Hall for the National Emergency Briefing – a landmark event bringing together leading experts to assess the UK's exposure to climate and nature risks.
This has now been adapted into a 50-minute public film, The People's Emergency Briefing.
Chris Packham CBE, who introduced the original event at Westminster, said:
"I'd encourage people everywhere to attend a screening of The People's Emergency Briefing.
"It creates exactly the kind of honest local conversation we now urgently need, both about what these changes mean where we live, and about what we can do togaether to address them."
The Burntwood screening comes at a time when the area is facing increasing numbers of wildfires as well as flooding issues in winter.
Tickets for the Burntwood screening are free but advance registration is encouraged at www.tickettailor.com/events/burntwoodcampaign/2425573.
