A group of 25 cyclists got in the saddle to enjoy the first in a series of community rides.
Lichfield District Council, Freedom Cycles and Jigsaw launched this year’s programme of Cycle Rides for All with a 12-mile cycle ride to Fradley Junction and back again.
Appropriate for all ages and abilities, the next outing in the series is a 9-mile ride to Whittington on May 6.
“We attract cyclists of all ages – from toddlers through to senior citizens – because it’s social, healthy, and a great way to see the countryside,” said Debby Whiting from Freedom Cycles. “We also have a great team of trained cycle leaders who make sure everyone feels safe.”
To join the rides, just bring your bicycle, safety helmet, a picnic and yourself to Freedom Cycles in Lichfield at 10am on the first Sunday of the month. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

- June 3 to the National Memorial Arboretum – 18 miles
- July 1 to Chasewater – 18 miles
- September 2 to Barton Marina – 23 miles
- October 7 to Fradley (extended route) – 12 miles
