A group of cyclists is inviting other riders to get in the saddle and join them for a ‘Lichfield Jolly’.

The event, which started last year, is designed as a fun event and will see bikes take a four-mile ride before finishing off with a well-deserved drink at the George and Dragon pub.

The organisers said: “When we put together last year’s event we were pleasantly surprised at how many people came and enjoyed themselves.”

The event takes place on June 28 – the same day as a Cycle Rides for All trip out to Packington Farm.

“Treat the Lichfield Jolly as a warm down and an excuse for a well-earned fizzy drink,” a spokesman said.

“All are welcome. Last year we had a range of riders, from little ones on single speed bikes to swanky choppers and plenty more stuff inbetween.

“Come in fancy dress, vintage attire, on your old bike or your three-wheeled bike.”

The fun begins on Market Square at 4.30pm with an hour of games, free cake, music and rickshaw rides before setting off at 5.30pm.
