The date has been set for a by-election in Burntwood.
The Boney Hay and Central seat on Burntwood Town Council has been vacated following the resignation of Natasha Pullen.
It had been expected that a co-opt agreement would be made to allow the Conservatives to replace their own member, but a row over a similar situation in the Chasetown ward means both Labour and the Conservatives are now likely to field candidates.
The by-election will take place on July 27, with candidates needing to be confirmed by June 30.
