The funeral of a Lichfield man killed after being hit by a train at a level crossing will now go ahead as planned.

Stuart Turner died when he was hit by a train on a level crossing at Barlaston on March 20.

According to a Facebook group set up in his memory, his funeral had been postponed, but the decision has now been taken to go ahead with the ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, at 11.30am tomorrow (Friday).

Friends have held a collection to buy a floral tribute to the popular former Nether Stowe pupil and his mother Jayne has set up a charity page on JustGiving in aid of Impact Young Heroes, which has already raised more than £450.
