A driver has died after a crash in Lichfield.
The 87-year-old’s black Saab left the road on Shortbutts Lane at around 12.20pm today (February 25) and collided with a parked Ford Ka.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “An 87-year-old man from Lichfield was taken to Good Hope Hospital but sadly, despite the efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place and officers are in the process of informing the man’s family.”
The road was closed while investigations were carried out.
