Sir Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, President of the Royal Society, will give the 2017 Erasmus Darwin Memorial Lecture.
In 2009 he received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on ribosomal structure and was knighted in 2012. His talk will describe the development of methods for visualising molecules from x-ray crystallography of common salt to current electron microscopy of large biological structures.
