FINAL preparations are taking place ahead of Lichfield’s Lunar New Year celebrations.
The event will run from midday to 3pm on Saturday (1st February) at the Lichfield Guildhall.
It will feature an afternoon of free cultural activities and entertainment to mark the Year of the Snake.
Cllr Rosie Harvey-Coggins said:
“We are thrilled to celebrate the Lunar New Year once again, building on the incredible success of last year’s event.
“This year, visitors can enjoy captivating displays of traditional crafts, face painting and Tai Chi from the Kai Ming Association, as well as participate in hands-on activities such as Chinese calligraphy, lantern-making, and origami.
“We’ll also have delicious refreshments, including authentic Hong Kong snacks provided by QT, and a new addition of a councillors’ drop-in surgery – it’s a great chance to ask any questions about Lichfield or find out about community events near you.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to what promises to be a fantastic afternoon.”
