Members of a local voluntary organisation with learning disabilities are being given help to become more financially aware.
The Cherry Orchard Garden Services provides gardening skills to enable its members to improve their employment opportunities.
They have now linked up with Fusion Credit Union to create the Friends to Friends (F2F) scheme.
Alison Wellon, the manager of F2F, said: “This initiative will widen the opportunities for our clients, especially those who live alone, to get used to managing money and savings.”
The organisation was was set up following a successful tender to Lichfield District Council in May this year and operates out of Cruck House in Stowe Street
Janet Bamber, the treasurer of Fusion addd: “We are pleased to widen our customer base, raise our community profile and help learning disabled people to acquire the saving habit.”
