A former Burntwood student enjoyed the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in style as one of 700 guest at lunch with the Queen.
Joe Woodward, a former Chase Terrace High School pupil, was invited as part of the Livery Companies of London event attended by Her Majesty at the historic Westminster Hall.
The 27-year-old – who now works as an assistant manager for a trust company in Guernsey – was among a select group of people who got to enjoy lunch with members of the Royal family.
His proud mum Sue, a Burntwood councillor, said: “Joe had been awarded the Livery Company’s prize for overall best student in the Institute of Chartered Company Secretaries (ICSA) in 2011. In fact he received his John Philips Memorial Prize at their Annual Banquet at the Mansion House last month where the Queen attended a reception before the lunch.
“The first text message we got from him after the Queen had left just said ‘Wow’.”
