Lichfield shoppers will be asked to show some creative flair at an art event in the city.
The Big Draw takes place tomorrow (October 22) in the Three Spires Shopping Centre from 10am to 4pm.
Lichfield District Council’s Arts Development Officer, Celia Houghton, is leading the event which will feature a variety of art activities throughout the day.
There will be a chance to draw with wire, use a custom-built drawing machine, and contribute to a section of one of the world’s largest drawings.
Celia said: “Everyone is welcome to stop by and have a go at the drawing activities. They’re totally free, and will be great fun for all the family.”
Customers at Lichfield Garrick’s Green Room Bar & Café and Spark Café Bar on Tamworth Street can join in the creative day too, with diners able to draw their menu choice on the special paper table cloths at selected tables.
“I thought having a menu of drawing ideas in a café would be a good way to get people thinking about art. I hope it inspires them to get involved in Big Draw,” Celia added.
