PLACES can now be booked for a scheme offering free summer fun for youngsters across Staffordshire.
Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) is funded by the Department for Education and delivered by Staffordshire County Council.
It provides activities for youngsters aged five to 16 who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals.
More than 42,000 places are on offer, with children able to attend up to 16 sessions, with a meal provided at most. Providers also offer paid-for places to enable others to take part.
Activities include sports, dance, drama, outdoor adventures, water sports, creative sessions and wellbeing activities.
Cllr Nick Lakin, cabinet member for children and young people at Staffordshire County Council, said:
"Our summer HAF programme is about much more than keeping children busy – it’s about helping them grow in confidence, learn new skills and have positive experiences during the school holidays.
"With more than 42,000 places available and up to 16 sessions per child, families can really benefit from what’s on offer this summer."
