Fundraising firewalk set to take place in Burntwood

Published:

Daredevil fundraisers with a burning ambition to raise money for charity will have the perfect opportunity at an event in Burntwood.

St Giles Hospice will be holding a fundraising firewalk at Burntwood Rugby Club on April 29.

Helen Relihan, Head of Fundraising for St Giles Hospice, said: “The firewalk is an ancient rite of passage that has been practised by civilisations around the globe for centuries and it’s said to be one of the most inspirational journeys a person can make.

“For the first time, we’re offering local people the chance to test their courage, determination and willpower by tackling this nerve-shredding challenge in exchange for sponsorship from friends, family and work colleagues.

“It’s all for a fantastic cause and it promises to be an experience that will live long in the memory!”

Entry to the St Giles Hospice Firewalk is £25 and all those taking part must raise additional sponsorship of at least £125. Registration begins at 6pm on April 29 with the walk itself taking place from 7.30pm following a motivational training session.

To sign up for the firewalk or find out more about the event, contact Jenni Dawson on 01543 434542 or email jenni.dawson@st-giles-hospice.org.uk.
