A meeting will discuss plans to introduce parking charges for Blue Badge holders at a Lichfield hospital.

Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is considering the scheme at three sites – including the Samuel Johnson Community Hospital.

Now a limited mobility advisory group will meet on Tuesday (September 3) to discuss the proposals.

Geoff Neild, Head of Facilities for the Trust, said: “The first priority is to discuss what the concessionary rate for Blue Badge holders should be, and how such a scheme should operate.

“Beyond that we want to keep the advisory group together so we can look at ways of improving access at all parts of all three of our hospitals – which have very different issues for those with limited mobility.”

The first meeting of the advisory group will be at 10am on Burton’s Belvedere Road site. It will not be open to the public, but Blue Badge holders and carers of Blue Badge holders who want to join the group should contact Geoff on 01283 511511 ext 560 or email geoff.neild@burtonft.nhs.uk for more details.
