Local not-for-profit groups are being urged to apply for a small grant from Lichfield District Council.
The local authority has a pot of £23,000 available in grants of upto £1,000.
Cllr Doug Pullen, Cabinet member for community, said groups could use the money in different ways.
“The grant could be for £100 to buy sporting equipment, or £1,000 to hire a marquee for a fete,” he explained. “So if you have a local project in need of a funding boost, and as long as you have a bank account in your group’s name, you can apply for a grant.”
Applications will be judged on whether they impact on the following criteria:
- Social inclusion and regeneration
- Job creation and skills development
- Basic needs
- Crime prevention and community safety
- Health improvement
- Local democracy and consultation
- Quality of life
- Partnership and community involvement
- Value for money
