HAMMERWICH’S bowlers enjoyed a successful afternoon as they secured a five wicket win at Pelsall.
The visitors sent the hosts in to bat first and made a first over breakthrough when Tom Boyd was bowled by Haider Pervaiz for a duck with the fourth ball of the day.
On a tough day for Pelsall, only two batsmen made it into double figures as the wickets kept on tumbling.
They were eventually dismissed for just 88 inside 31 overs, with Gurshan Singh top scoring with 30.
Josh Jennings and Hasnain Nawaz starred with the ball for Hammerwich as they finished with figures of 3-10 and 3-23 respectively.
It wasn’t all plain sailing in response though, despite the low target. Scoring was slow and both Ben Novis and Andy Malkin made quick returns to the pavilion to leave the Hammers on 3-2.
Imran Qadir settled the ship with 34 before he was trapped lbw by former England ace Monty Panesar with the score on 56.
Two more wickets were to fall in the innings before Hammerwich eventually passed the target in little more than 20 overs.
