Head coach to leave role at Burntwood RUFC

Burntwood Rugby Club has confirmed the departure of head coach Steve Harris at the end of the season.

BURNTWOOD Rugby Club has confirmed the departure of head coach Steve Harris at the end of the season.

He will leave the club after six years at the helm of the seniors to pursue a coaching role in Cornwall.

He initially joined the club after a two decade stint in America, and helped the club win promotion to level seven in 2023 as well as securing two Intermediate Cup titles.

A club spokesperson said:

“Burntwood Rugby Club would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Steve for his hard work, dedication and commitment during his six-year tenure as seniors head coach, and to wish him well in his new ventures..

“Steve has been committed to blooding the talents of many a young player at Burntwood and setting the club up for success in the future.

“His immediate priorities will be to complete the Staffordshire Intermediate Cup campaign this season and set a handover plan for a new coach.
