Accusations of bullying against a former Lichfield headteacher have been dismissed.

Ex-Nether Stowe School head Barrie Cooper left West Lakes Academy in Cumbria and was reported to the General Teaching Council (GTC).

However, the Cumberland News reports that the case against the 54-year-old was thrown out after the members of staff who gave a vote of no confidence in his leadership failed to give evidence to the GTC.

Mr Cooper told the newspaper:

“I’m obviously relieved and I’m pleased that I’ve got no case to answer.”
