LOCAL tips will close for two hours each day this week due to the forecast of "extreme heat".
Staffordshire County Council has confirmed that household waste and recycling centres will shut between 1pm and 3pm until Friday (26th June).
A spokesperson said:
"Our site teams work outdoors all day and are required to wear protective equipment, making conditions especially challenging during peak temperatures.
"These temporary closures are to protect staff safety, while helping us keep sites open as normal for the rest of the day."
