A performance by Jon Lord at the Lichfield Festival is shaping up to be something a bit special.

As one of the founder members of Deep Purple, Jon has since gone on to achieve success as a solo artist – and it’s much of this work which will be showcased in the city.

His performance at Lichfield Cathedreal on July 17 will feature “a special selection of music from his solo career”, according to his official website.

Jon has already confirmed that among the songs being performed will be:

  • Sarabande
  • Gigue
  • Bourree
  • De Profundis
  • Miles Away
  • Wait a While
  • The Sun Will Shine Again
  • From the Windmill
  • Telemann Experiment

And with the backdrop of the Cathedral, he’ll be joined on stage by a string quartet, bass, drums, flute, a keyboard player and two singers.

Tickets for the concert are priced between £9.50 and £27 and are available online.
