Children have been showcasing their creative skills in a bid to save a Lichfield leisure centre.
The Save Friary Grange Leisure Centre campaign has launched the initiative to help give young people a voice in the debate over the under-threat facility.
Lichfield District Council will make a final decision on the centre’s future next month after previously putting forward proposals to shut the centre from April 2020.
A spokesperson said: “Posters showing why Lichfield kids want Friary Grange Leisure Centre to be saved are coming in from across the city.
“Kids of all ages have created colourful and imaginative designs to show how strongly they feel about the proposed closure.
“Some posters are drawings of the activities they’ll miss, such as trampolining, football, roller skating and swimming. Others are original designs with clever slogans.”
Posters can be left in collection boxes at the customer service desks in Morrisons, Tesco Extra and Waitrose, in Little Green Frog Café and at Lichfield City Football Club.
People can also scan or take a photo of their posters and email them to sfgkidsposters@gmail.com.
The posters will be displayed around the city before being handed to councillors at the Cabinet meeting at the Garrick Theatre on 7th October.
