Cllr Dave Robertson has been confirmed as the party’s representative for the poll on 12th December.

It marks a return to the practice of selecting a candidate from within the constituency for the party, who have fielded a candidate from outside the area for the last two General Elections.

Cllr Robertson was elected in the Curborough ward on both Lichfield District Council and Lichfield City Council at the local elections in May.

He will face off against Conservative candidate Michael Fabricant and Lib Dem hopeful Cllr Paul Ray in the General Election.

The Brexit Party has failed to respond to requests for the identity of its candidate for the vote, and there has been no confirmation on whether or not the Green Party will field a candidate this time around.
